Volunteer

At Life’s Little Treasures Foundation (LLTF) volunteers are part of our family. We love the passion and enthusiasm our ‘vollies’ bring to our day-to-day operations.

From packing and processing parcels for families, helping with events like Walk for Prems or providing peer support at NICU Connections events – our volunteers ensure we can continue to help families with premature and sick babies.

Volunteering at LLTF is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and help vulnerable families across Australia. There are so many ways to get involved with us.

Corporate Volunteers

Corporate volunteering is a great way for big and small organisations to get involved in the work of LLTF.

Areas your staff could assist with include;

  • Collating and packing resources such as Precious Prem Packs and Little Bag of Calm for families in hospital
  • Wrapping Milestone gifts for special occasions, such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas
  • Preparing resource orders for health professionals to distribute in hospital
  • Data collation and recording for special projects
  • Sorting and packing donations from the crafting community

LLTF offer a corporate volunteering day every month and can take up to 15 volunteers.

Packing and Processing Volunteer

Packing and Processing Volunteering means being part of the dynamic volunteer team on a Monday and/or a Wednesday at LLTF headquarters. Tasks include;

  • Sorting and packing donations from the crafting community
  • Assisting with administration tasks such as organising postage, updating data and preparing ticketing for events.

Peer Support Volunteer

Peer Support Volunteering means joining staff from LLTF to support parents who have had a premature or sick baby. This happens in NICU Connections events, either in hospital or online.

If you decide to become a Peer Support Volunteer you will need to complete training and will need to have been through the experience of having a premature or sick baby that stayed in NICU or SCN. If you are looking to be a Peer Support Volunteer in a hospital you will also need to complete the hospital compliance training. Over a ‘cuppa’ you will share with families your story and offer advice, tips and tricks to help them through their stay.

If you decide to help with NICU Connections – online, the format is a closed Facebook group so parents can sit with their baby and join in cotside using their own personal device.

Event Volunteer

Event Volunteering includes helping out with logistics at events like Walk for Prems (WFP), LLTF’s signature fundraising activity. WFP is held in multiple locations across Australia including Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Hobart, Adelaide and Canberra. Event tasks include;

  • Helping with set up and pack down
  • Marshalling walkers around the track
  • Handing out water and medals
  • Setting up signage and equipment

Skilled Volunteering

If you have team members with skills in social media, marketing, office administration or grant writing we’d love to hear from you.
