Pedal for Prems – the countdown begins

Where did the time go? Weeks and days have flown by and it is now just over seven days before our Pedal for Prems team depart for our eight-day cycling adventure in Cambodia.  Jarrod from JS Health & Fitness has continued to challenge me physically while encouraging me to push a little harder.  So far he has kept any doubts about my fitness to himself, consistently sending me positive messages that encourage me to stay motivated.

Just over a week ago Fi, our other Melbourne team member, joined Jarrod and me for training.  It was a warm day and we struggled with the heat;  a wake up to what we will face in Cambodia.  However, with Jarrod’s positive energy we left feeling better for the workout and even more enthusiastic about the cycling challenge itself.

One of the key pieces of information Jarrod has shared each session has been about how to help ourselves each evening with recovery, ready for the next day’s cycle.  We will be including stretching, and an evening swim will help us get back on the bike each day without too much pain.

As part of our countdown to departure, Jarrod has organised a Valentine’s Day boot camp.  If you are in Melbourne, please join us on Sunday 14 February 2016, 12.30pm at Lower Plenty Primary School.  For $10 paid on the day. Jarrod will run a half hour fitness session, with the money raised going to Life’s Little Treasures Foundation.  For more information and to RSVP, please see the Bootcamp Facebook event page.
